Mojave Museum of Infinity
My MFA Graphic Design class collaborated with curatorial students to invent, curate, and design an identity for an imaginary museum. I chose to design a museum that showcased the concept of infinity, keeping branding meditative and incorporated ideas of infinity without resorting to cliches. The ultimate result was an exhibit in a group show that introduced each of the 14 museums.
MFA Schoolwork, Imaginary Museum Exhibition
Working with two student curators, I conceptualized and visualized an "imaginary museum." I worked with my curators to create the Mojave Museum of Infinity, a museum that gives its visitors a humbling sense of the vastness of the universe through its immesrive, sensory exhibitions. It features artworks and experiences that deal with metaphysical questions.
Located a bullet-train ride away from the symbolic center of materialism (Las Vegas), the Mojave Museum of Infinity transports visitors into a meditative space. Featuring permanent installations of mirror rooms by Serge Salat and Yayoi Kusama, multiple infinite illusion exhibit rooms, day tours of the desert, night tours of the spectacular Mojave night sky, and an underwater infinity room, the MMI challenges perspectives and instills a sense of wonder.
